dude, go windsurfing or go to peru (of orf course the pacific of columbia) its going to be flat! dont bother going to puerto colombia (baranquilla) because tehres no waves there anyway. go to taganga for some diving at oceano (stay in la casa de felipe) if u do a dive course, breing your surfboard for skurfing behind there boat. the dive instructor of oceano loves it too! and later go to the national park. (tayrona) no surf either but might as well bring ur board, u might be lucky. nioce nature anyway. have fun man, i just came back. amsterdma isnt too bad but i miss colombia! Chau

i just saw your message. it's been two weeks i'm came to bogota and i'm thinking in going down to cartagena for 3 days (14.10.-16.10.), looking for some waves. maybe we could meet or you could let me know where to go. i will buy only the ticket. i'm looking for a simple place at the beach, where it is possible to rent a board.

There's plenty of surf in-and-around Cart. Actually, Cartagena itself is pretty well protected from the trade wind swell. Making my way from Bquilla we found many desolate, reeling right handers. So head that way, and you're sure to find decent, lonely waves. My wife and I are actually working on buying some property on one of these points.
Another option would be to take the boat out to the Rosarios. It's like, $80.000, but if you ask politely, or better yet throw-in an extra $10.000, you can get your board on the boat. Make sure it's in a bag, as it's a pounding, brutal ride out there. Depending on the conditions, they can drop you off on the way out to where the rest of the folk go snorkeling, etc. They'll stop for a shore lunch at that island on the way back, hopefully. If not, make sure you've got a few extra bucks to hitch a ride back.

hey! my name is yasmin and im doing a project on surfing at school......but i just wanted to say that i got back from colombia about a week ago....i went to bogota and cartagena and i went surfing in cartagena.......there arent very many waves.....except in this one place called "El Lagito" .......its near the hilton.....but dont go to the hilton because EVERYTHING is just so expensive there, especially if u look foreign......if u cant find El lagito just ask someone on the stree....everyone is very nice there! once u get to El Lagito ask where u can find a surf board rental there..... the owners are Andres and Juan Paolo....and sometimes a german guy....theyre really really nice! its 15 mil pesos for an hour for a board and 30 mil pesos for a board AND an intructor...
