da scoop.. ( fish, pork , chicken or beef,..beans and rice, sm. salad and potatoes or beets ) is a gut bomb for around $3.00 at sodas ( local eateries ) tip and tax included. prices for anything at the grocery will be the same as in Hi ( shampoo, shavers, cereal, soda, beer, milk, hamburger etc.) produce is cheap; bananas 5c lb. mangoes, papaya, green veges etc. are pennies or free on the trees...i do lots of green coconut water which is free and everywhere...just smash em on the tree and pour on your face....so you can get by for $6-8 a day on food...a BASIC cabina in season will run 250-300 mo if you stay in one place..or hostels/surf camps/huts on the beach are available for $10 day
