Royal Decameron Salinitas« on: February 27 2006 20:02:00 »
A friend and i are travelling to El Salvadorin late march- early april.
we're staying at the Royal Decameron Salinitas in San Salvador, while we're there we want to surf about 4-5 times. if anyone can lend any useful info to 2 rookie/novice surfers it would be greatly appreciated.
Some info about where to surf and best ways to get around the country would be great.

Where can I find a good beginner beach for surfing?
Is there a spot where I can rent or buy used surfboards?
How about finding a surf guide?

Does anyone know where Playa Azul is located? i was reading a story that my local paper wrote on El Salvador.
they talk about shuttle buses that will take people to Playa Azul, just wondering what other beaches it's close to and if the surf is good there?

I´m from El Salvador and accidentally found this forum. The name of the beach is Costa Azul, it´s not famous because of surfing, thou. If you want to suf here in El Salvador you gotta go to Punta Roca, El Tunco and some others nearby. BTW you are gonna be stayin at one of the nicest beaches of the country, but I recommend El Tamarindo, which is about 3 hours from where you´ll be staying. have a nice trip.

goto "The Board Doctor" "El Doctor de Tablas" (it's a ding repair shop) in el puerto de la libertad and ask for saul or samuel. They'll rent you boards.

Sergio, a qué distancia y tiempo quedan los surfspots más cercanos al Hotel Decameron en Playa Salinitas?

You can rent boards and get a great surf guide in "Papaya", Jaime Delgado at Papaya's Surf Shop in El Tunco near La Libertad. (503)389-6231 or firstname.lastname@example.org. El Zonte and Sunzal are other great breaks for beginners/intermediates.

I am looking to go to Sonsonate in the last week of May. My friends wife is from there and I am hoping to surf while down there.
Do you know of any breaks near Sonsonate?
