Hi lasses, get your mits on the Stormriders Guide to Europe. It will tell you all that ye seek. Dont forget scotland and ireland .... some of the most beautiful beaches.
I used to live in Mudgeeraba and  Burleigh for a while ... a while back (yipers .... a long while back) and just packed a friend out to Phuket for New Year ... shell be back in a week. Shes also from the Gold Coast, doesnt really surf, but she's living in london so could have some contacts for you. At the end of the day London is Lousy with Aussies! So you will probably find youself beating em off with something hopefully more effective then a stick! ........

.... continued .....
As for jobs ... try : TNT .. .one of many publications that have a long listing of whats available all over the country.
If ya want to earn cash .. get a job on a yacht in antibes or palma .... though you wont have any time for surf. By the way ... to be hoest ... europe is such a huge and diverse continent ... you will have a million other things to do then surf.
Good Luck!

hi girls,im from cape town but have lived in london and cornwall for 9 years now.Am a graphic designer in the industry.Cornwall is your best bit..i go twice a month from march to november....waters  warmer than cape town but obv nothing like gold coast. waves are consistant and theres a good vibe around and good night life...lots of aussies tho!!!!!!!! Newquay is the main place...full of surf camps and lodges..shops n surf bars etc...but it gets really busy through summer. Went down last month for the "cribber"...newquays 35 foot wave which was just too scarey for me!! The athmosphere is great in cornwall but France and portugal dont have the crowds, which is a big plus!!!
Enjoy your trip......trust me tho, youll forget about surfing for a while as soon as you get to london...youll find out why!!!
All the best

hey , yea cornwall the best to surf in england! but i cant say theres consistent good surf there. mostly its good but sometimes it gets quite messy surf and u cant do anything. i surf normally at a place called polzeath in the northen bits of cornwall. its very crowded but its relatively good surf .  constantine bay in padstow is good also . how old are you and your frend?
