Head to Lacanau - good waves and plenty of surf shops (used to be a WCT venue). Not the most beautiful town but definitely a good place to start, and the closest beach to Bordeaux. Hope that helps - drop me a line or repost if you need any more info.

I'll be in Lacanau for September!!! I heard the waves are real nice then... Is there any cheap hostels around... or is camping the way to go??? Drop me a line if anyone is looking to surf or chill...
PS. When is the world cup and what's up with the dudes in the green jerseys??? I'll bring mine.

Ye i whats up with the guys in the green jerseys? and ill be there in late august and i cant find any info about the world cup this year so when is it? ive seen world cup in 2005 hossegor it was awesome :)

I am 21 year old student looking to learn french in the biarritz area , and i was wandering being american and only knowing english how hard it would be to live there travel wise , surfing wise and just getting around and living , if oyou have any suggestions about the area i would appreciate it ? thank you

Everyone speaks a bit of english,,, but they like it when you try to speak french first!!! Should'nt be too hard!!! But take a dictionary or translator!
