I NEED A SURF BOARD!« on: September 23 2004 08:09:00 »
I arrived india a month ago and I m going to be here for at least two more. In twenty days I m going to the south and I was thinking of going to sri lanka because I ve read that there you can hire surfboards for not too much money a day but if I find a surf board in india I will stay in the south surfing everyday. If anyone can help me, knows any shop or someone that wants to sell his board before leaving please contact me.

I have tried to get a board but unsuccessful, the only place I hve heard one can hire a board is is Kerala. If you can do it, it may be best to go to sri lanka because there will defintely be boards there.
Surfing is apparently catching on outside of Mumbai (Bombay) but I don't think there are surf shops yet.
INDIA NEEDSA A SURF SHOP!
Let me know if you have any luck, I am going to be there is NOv. myself.

Namaste from india,
We Indian surfers need boards more than any of y'all...no surfshops so no surfboards in India. we do have a few old banged up boards handed down to us by some awesome cool dude surfers & surfer chix. We cant afford to have blanks shipped here otherwise we would be shaping boards. So it would be better if u bring ur own board but if really cant & want to surf we do have a few boards in Auroville beach "Repos" near Pondicherry, & would love to share the boards & Indian Ocean stoke With y'all!!!
