I'm sorry I can't help with your question, but I was wondering if I can get a board in Jakarta. Are there any surf shops there? How much does the average board cost? Thanks

the ideal place to learn surfing would be batukaras.
but it's 10hours away from jakarta. and the waves r unpredictable. many times r flat.
the locals there r pretty damn good. u can ask them for a surf lesson.
sometimes they have second hand board to sell.
u can also go to carita, anyer.
there's a surfshop there that has brand new and second hand board.
to learn how to surf, u have to do it routine.
u can't go to the beach only for two days and come back the next week..
it's hard to do it that way.
u have to stay at the beach at least 5 to 7 days.

Taman Anggrek mall, there're two surf shops, Point break and planet surf. Cilandak Town Square has a surf shop too, i heard that Plaza Senayan has surf shop too.
If you living aroung Kemang, there's a Quiksilver shop there which sell board.
Other than you could set to go to Cimaja, thete a good surf shop in Cek Ombak.
