RE: Best beginners surf in Indo???

Have you no adventure.. the essence of surfing is finding spots yourself, the true surfer never had a clue what was around the next corner, overcoming all sorts of obsticles just to get a paddle.. all you people just post a pathetic question and some gumby who probably can't even flap around on a lid gives you advice.. you're all a bunch of sheep with no idea.. yeh all go to bahh bahh bali..

RE: Best beginners surf in Indo???

True, adventure is def a key element to surfing but, beginners that come searching and don't ask questions risk death! It's common here to see "adventurous" beginners try to surf breaks they shouldn't go near 'til their skills improve. Everyone loves a free spirit, but I've witnessed my share of tourist tragedies here and I respect unadvanced surfers asking questions about conditions.....
I recommend finding a local surf guide to take you on a day trip around the east coast, you can get advice, suss out spots to suit your ability, you don't have to be fighting for space against the masses in Kuta/Legian. If on the day trip you find your "sweet spot' then guaranteed there'll be plenty of cheap homestays in walking distance, shack up, rent a board (bike if you want more mobility) ask locals and enjoy :)

Fair call.. but if you're a beginner and you can't destinguish between 4-6ft dredging pits and a mellow soft beachy , you shouldn't be surfing.. i've seen the same throngs of wanna be's getting sucked out to see cause they havn't heard of a tide or can't see a current.. what do you want to do.. baby these people & wrap em' up in cotton wool.. and a give them a nice blanket when they get out of the water cause they're cold.. sorry ! the lineup is already too clogged.

Thanks Wanita Baby. Right on advice. Sux to the macho dudes who won't let anyone else on their waves cos they're not fully PROficient. Local Kuta surfers actually invite you onto their waves. Respect to Bali.

I have grown pubes, and always found the balinese to be very friendly in and out of the water. It's people like you that I didn't like in the water.
