What are you a freak.. what surfer in his right mind would choose the mediterranean as a surf destination.. are you tripping.. yeh go to napoli and live amongst the romanian migrant slums, infested by mafia, knee deep in garbage and the traffic .. be sure to breath in all that lovely smog.. sorry buddy wrong choice.. and rome.. don't get me started.. to answer your question how goods the swell.. it doesn't get any, just the odd wind wave every few weeks, if that makes you happy though she's all yours !

italy is not such a big destination for surfing but it's not all about that shit that you described, we don't have only mafia and life quality is good.

Sorry buddy, but it is all that shit & more, life quality is a joke, and yes there are lots of immigrants , yes there is mafia everywhere, yes there is knee deep rubbish and garbage, and no there is no swell, its a dirty shitty surf location, thats my point especially if you compare to south pacific , new zealand, australia, indonesia even west coast of france, spain, portugal, morrocco etc etc.
sorry mediterranean italy is crap !

I am happy that I never share the line up with people like you!
Obviously Oz NZ RSA are better but surf is about fun! If you are in Italy you can enjoy life and have even fun on a short board.

Alright you don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that Indo or HI are better than our spots in the Mediterranean. That being said, we got to look for decent spots we can ride without spending a fortune.
And Italy's an awesome country. You'd know if you'd been there. And I don't mean just one place. It's totally diverse as a country, and it has some of the nicest scenery I've seen.
So yeah. I'd love to know about spots in Italy, and other parts of the Med. Even in Greece we got (wind-dependent) swells that produce rideable waves. And given the current financial situation, I don't see too many Greeks leaving the country, or the neighborhood (i.e. Italy), anytime soon. So we got to make the best of what we got man.

There's a wind off it called the Mistral. Some real classic waves happen when th blows.
So find where it is and get blown out.
I read about it once in a Surfers Path mag with top pics.
