Huatulco point« on: June 20 2006 12:06:00 »
Heading to huatulco area in Aug and looking for a good right point, I've heard of a good point but not sure where it is. I will be traveling alone and spending some time also in Escondido also. Any help would be appreciated and kept secret. I'm an older surfer who has a house in Oxaca but doesn't know this area very well.

Most people know where this famous point is located! Not hard to find!
It's getting really crowded lately although it's an epic wave!

Hola Matt-I am 50yr old world travaler who still rips been to Puerto and want to take my wife and 11yr old to surf the point I have been studying for yrs i Huatulco-any tips on renting a car and driving down from Puerto? We are very flexible, speak some spanish-would love to meet local surfers and experience cultore down there-I know the ripcurl pro has probably ruined the place but we want to check it out before it gets totally gringo-ized.We have a period between July 8-23 to hit it on the best swell so we will wait in san diego where we love and wait for conditions-what is it like to have a house in Oaxaca? We are also interested in meeting another surfer or local surfer who wants to surf the point with us.Any tips greatly appreciated-tengua buen dia...

The bars there are absolutely shot and its still crowded as hell. Way over rated, stay in Puerto. The locals are mean as well

Hi, read your post. My hubby is 54, used to surf in his younger days in LA. Hasn't surfed in 20 yrs, but wants to start again, in either Nov, Dec of this year! We have a chance to rent a apt in Huatulco that we can afford. He desperately needs an older friend, someone his age to advise him on this. I am worried he is going to kill himself! The apt has two bedrooms, so he could have a friend over if needed. If you have time and feel like it, maybe you can email him? Just a thought as you mentioned you were an older surfer and alone. Sorry if I bugged you, but I am getting worried for him. take care,
