Surfboard Rentals?, etc.« on: January 10 2005 02:01:00 »
My wife and I are heading to Nica next week and we will be spending a few nights in SJdS. Is it possible to rent boards there? If so, where? If not, what type and size boards should I bring? Are there any good surf guides that could take us out for a day or two?

I've rented a board from skeeter's shop not too long ago. Pretty good selection. Boards were in good shape when i was there (xmas). They may have a boat by now too, for running out to the breaks. Good luck - keep surfing.

I couldn't get your email address to go through. AOL says it's too long.
We are arriving Feb 17th through Feb. 27th and staying in a casa at Rancho Santana. We need to rent four longboards in good condition anywhere from 9' 0 to 9' 6". I heard the water is cold now, what is the temp? Also, have you heard of any surfers getting hassled by the Policia?

Water not too cold. Dont need booties. People very friendly, the police not bad, but they took my hairdryer, so bring 2 instead of 1 when you come. Carlos Santana owned
'Rancho', but he sold it. Police cool if you not VABch longboard surf rider, that all. So if you not one of them, you ok. My cousin's chickens in Costa run over. Birds dead. Drive careful. If you bring guy name 'Erb, make sure he have fun. Bring tuna in cans.
Hog farms not problem either. No such thing. Just kid you.
Water beautiful. Everything beautiful.

The posts by Javier, Skeeter, and SteveW on this thread were made by some knuckleheads in Cocoa Beach who had never been to Nica... just ignore them.
