Surf and stay

« on: March 19 2008 11:03:00 »

I am going to be into Nicaragua in mid-april.  I was curious if there were any places to stay that are right on the surf.  I don't want to stay at a surf camp, and would rather not have to take a boat or 4x4 to get to the surf.  Is at all possible to find a place where you can watch the surf near your pad.

There are tons of places... what does your budget look like? there are cheap places and expensive places... but most are in the southern part of the country... Rivas - San Juan del Sur and Tola area...  There are surf spots further up the coast but they are much more spread out and less touristy... let me know watcha looking for and I will help ya out as much as possible..

Go start your trip in Popoyo.  Tons of cheap places to stay with no need of a truck cause the surf is right there.  Check out www.hotelpopoyo.com they have a bed in the dorm room for only $12 a nite (no I don't work for them, I was just there!) A/C, pool, food and a bar. They have private rooms for $40 sleeps 2.  Other places in popoyo are even cheaper.

You have to stay at the Mango Rosa less than a mile from Mederas, Sweet pad, pool, bar and restaurant! really the place everyone goes who stays out there. 2 surfers one guy (Greg ) from Florida is really cool and laid back will get you where ever you want to go surf trips by boat , I had a blast jumping out the boat and paddeling into the line up.
