Siargao, Lanuza and Zambales« on: October 01 2005 18:10:00 »
Im finally back in Sydney... after spending the whole month of September in the Philippines for a holiday and checking out our home grown breaks.
SIARGAO is on top of my list, stay at Patrick's on the beach or Sagana < the surf is just at their door step.
Quicksilver is good for begginers to intermediate but it can deliver a good long ride. I went to Daku as well, which is not too bad. There's heaps of breaks around.
Bring some booties if you can, it's rough out there.
By the way dont leave your gear outside, mine was all stolen quicksilver and ripcurl. Kung sino man yun kumuha good luck sana ma wipe out ka nang maraming beses!

CRYSTAL BEACH ZAMBALES - 2nd on my list, the closest one from Manila... to all our metro surfers.
I was just by myself there last week it was a powerful 3-6 feet, it's a sand bar you wont get scraped but you can however break your neck, it's shallow.
Ask for Manang Tere she supervise the resort and can give you a discount, a good place for an overnight camp.
Downside the current dragging / pulling you out best to enter on the right hand side of the beach really far right [that's when your facing the breaks.

LANUZA - didnt real enjoy it much, it's weak and when I was there the max was 3ft but I was there at the wrong time. The local told me that I was a month early.
Ask for Don a local tambay his ver accommodating. I also went to the barangay ask for their capitana Mrs. Frias she's hook you up.
Safe place to play, the down side we travelled 6 hours from Surigao on a rough road, and our guide told us that bandits sometimes strikes so make sure you dont travel at night.
