So funny, how I am wanting to do the same thing. Surf and Spanish in Spain. Looking for the nicest beach hot spot in Spain. I'm thinking Southern is cool but still doing my search. Let me know if you got any info. It's been like 6 years since I've surfed so, I'm excited!!to live again and dance.

GO to San Sebastian, because you will find real waves, not stormy windwaves like in Cadiz! San Sebastian is one of the spnish surf hotspots and along the coast you find epicentres like Zarrautz or Hossegor in France! Forget Cadiz if you want to surf every day!

RE: cadiz or san sebastian?

Hemann and guys, i have been to both places and Cadiz only works on winter and is not so great, the wind pumps and only El Palmar is good, and Cadiz is better for Kite surfing. On the other side, San Sebastian, called Donosti is good stuff. Not only because the beach in la concha can rock but the overall vibe in the basque country is wicked. You can hire a car and surf tons of spots from Donosti all the way down to southern cantabria, which in my opinion can have the best breaks in spain, together with the western basque country. Mundaka is one of the greatest waves around the world and it is in the heart of the basque country.

Euzkadi is wicked, great food, great waves, great mates....

hope this helps

RE: cadiz or san sebastian?

Waves are nice in Cadiz area in winter, dont worry.
Not epic, usually small but often nice and clean.

Surf is better further south but waves in Cadiz can be ok.
