RE: vietnam surf

I'm heading over in Feb for a month and want to surf - any ideas where may be a good spot to find some waves? Seem to be some mixed reports on how good it is... Anyone know where I could hire a board? Cheers

RE: vietnam surf

Go to long hai, then take the street that goes to the waterfall, u'll find some vietnamiese ressort and some "not so bad" spot sometimes it's surfable and not too far from saigon... Otherwise, u should go to danang...

RE: vietnam surf

Our American family's been living in Da Nang since July 2006.  There were no waves in July and August but the surf picked up beginning in September and my 15 year old son has been able to surf most days since then.  We are located near the Furama Resort in the southeast corner of town.  You can rent a surfboard from Tam's Pub at 43 Ho Xuan Huong Street.  Ho Xuan Huong is an easy street to locate on map.  It runs directly from the southernmost bridge crossing the river in Da Nang to the public beach next to the Furama Resort.  Tam's is about two blocks back from the beach.  Tam speaks English and is incredibly honest and helpful.  The beach is gorgeous and uncrowded.  If you want a surfing companion, ask Tam to call my son Timothy and he'd be happy to surf with you.

RE: vietnam surf

Hi Va ,
Looks like a solid swell hitting VN at the moment. I will be flying into Da Nang on 13th Dec for a week and keen to catch up for a surf, looks like i'll be a week too late, but that typhoon will hang around for a bit longer.
Please send me an email, i tried yours but it got sent back.
Thanks
