i stayed with a family in a fale on the point opposite bolders. Their names were Tua and Va'a. VERY basic but great spot, side view of boulders - short walk around the bay and small right hand break out front. Payed them very little but bought heaps of food and some toys for their daughter. Hope they are still there well. if you see em say hi from dale and tracey, we were there in 1997 for a month. go and check out savaii's south coast and stay at the place under the fig tree cannot remember the name but GREAT SURF close by. have fun

There are cheap places to stay near waves but your will find in Samoa you can surf everyday if you have the abiltiy to travel from place to oplace which is tricky here. There are resorts but are expensive. You can email me and I can give you some inside details. I have been living in Samoa for 7 years.

Dear Jon ,
Am looking for a place with family ( 2 little kids). Would like somewhere ideally with a break out the front (even if it's not fantastic) but with easy access to good waves if it's on. I'd be prepared to spend a bit (say $100-150Aus per day) but don't want to get ripped off. Any suggestions?
PS if you reply to this I'd be most grateful.

Me and my girlfriend are looking at going to Somoa for 10 days, we would like a cheap place to stay but not to cheap. I have looked into Minonoa Resort. It seems OK, do you know of this place, if so, is it any good, or is there somewhere better.
Any help yoo can give me would be great.

In my opinion, I dont like Maninoa very much... Youd probably like somewhere around Lalomanu more... even coconuts... although coconuts is on the slightly more expensive side. Theres some random place between Lalomanu and Sina Lei called boomerang Creek or something... is quite nice, and not too far away from surf.

We are looking to travel to Samoa in the next couple of weeks and are hoping to stay at Sinalei. My husband rides a long board and has been surfing for 20+ years and doesn't want to feel like he is surfing Teahupoo - before we commit to travelling over there, long board with us, can someone help give us an idea of waves size in April and what the consistency is like? Ultimately the big question is are the waves good for long boards?

i'm going to samoa in November with 2 mates. I'd like to stay for 1 month for as cheap as possible. Is camping (i.e. pitching a tent in the bush) an option to save money? I don't care where I have to sleep. What is the absolute cheapest way to stay in samoa?
