lake surfing does not rock i tried it and really sucks bad. it made me feel like a loser . thank god i found the ocean. lake surfing is like playing hockey with the opposite curve. its not the way ya shoot but it will have to do and then it just eventually turns shitty...

hey all, regardless of the above opinions, I still want to surf the lakes.  It may not be the most ideal locale, but it's what we got, especially if you can't afford to head to the ocean every month.  Having said that, I was hoping there might be a few people out there willing to go surf with an absolute beginner.  I am in burlington, and was hoping to get out as much as the lakes provide surfable waves.  I got the gear already, so whenever.
Thanks,
Garrett

BIC magnums are a good board to learn how to get up on but youll be wnating something better as soon as you can stand up.  Dont get me wrong bics are alright but the magnums dont really turn AT ALL!
