does anyone know of a surfing school around/nr toronto? I'm in Mississauga and dying to start surfing, but I'm gonna need some lessons. Does anyone know of a good club somewhat locally and can help me out??
any standing waves near TO?« Reply #5 on: May 18 2006 14:05:00 »
Does anyone know if any of the rivers or trubutaries in the GTA area have any surfable standing waves...it would be kinda cool to have a little wave like they have in Munich, Mtl or Calgary. I was thinking maybe the Rouge River or Humber might have one - anyone out there know?

I'm exchanging surf lessons for info on surfing on the lakes and Ontario. I got more than 20 years of experience surfing reef breaks. I even went to world surfing titles in 1988 Puerto Rico (amateur). I'm preatty new in town. It's good to see so much entusiasm around.
Drop me a line or two.

Try this, I did it and it worked great!
I horcked a G.I. Joe diver from Wal-Mart, stripped the suit off him, stole Malibu Barbie's board, shrunk myself down to ten inches high and went out on the lake. Man, those were excellent waves, double overhead! Yeoww, freshies, tubes galore! I'm gonna do it again.
