I ve been in Itacaré and its amazing tropical place! there are no crowds at the city spots in the early morning cause all the locals wake up later (they love the parties rather than the surf) . The beach breaks are really good and there are a lot of places. Pontal its an incredible wave at the city that its never crowded (its necessary to cross a river). I was at a local´s surf house ( english speaker) called Lawrence and he helps me a lot with the surf and everything!

I agree with Sergio, I surfed with the EasyDrop team, and they do an excellent job, no matter what your level. They even have a bar where they show you a video analysis of your surfing, it's crazy! We only had decent outside conditions for one day, so I really can't comment on the local surfers, but all of the ones I met were really cool and welcoming, in the water and out.
I loved the town, they have a lot of cool bars and restaurants. The pousadas are really nice and cheap, I really want to stay at the one right on Tiririca next time I go. The local bands are really cool, I loved the forro and reggae groups. The only warning I'll give is that if you don't like reggae, you might not enjoy the nightlife since that's mainly what you'll hear at all the bars. I heard a lot of whining from people who are used to going out and hearing techno and electronica.
