hey man, I hear you about wanting to surf more, I moved from TO to Japan pretty much just so I could surf about every day, I really don`t know about returning to Canada because the surfing scene doesn`t seem all that great in my opinion, unless you like really cold water, I would say Halifax over the west coast if anything though, because Vancouver Island is pretty isolated and at least Halifax is a progressive city of 300 000 with close access to surfing apparently all year and there seems to be a growing surf population.

definately halifax...growing surf population but still small enough to be cozy.  and hurricanes/tropical storms every year (starting this weekend) making for massive swell.
