I got back this morning from Costa Rica. I stayed in Playa Grande at Las Tortugas Hotel. ask for Brittany, shes my friend and she will give you the best deal arround. The surf out front of the hotel has 3 or 4 peaks with-in walking distance (0-15 min). the crouded spot is the good spot but watch the swell, secrets spots are everywhere, just watch for the barrells and ask about rocks....

Pavonnes - is way south (near the panama border)
but, if you make it down there, it has an amazingly consistent point break -- there are several places to stay in town -- nicer places - casa siempre domingo ($80 - for two people per room, with a.c. and bed / breakfast) -- there are places for 50 per night, some for much less - and i saw people camping -- good surf there...you won't be disappointed.
