Honululu, ur in for a shock mate. Be prepared to don full neoprene at this time of year (9-10c in south west), head to toe rubber mate!!! But by august september expect 18-20celcius. September also brings in the hurricane season with regular 6-8ft swells, however in the UK you have too watch the charts like an eagle and be prepared to drop whatever your doing and go! 5 hours of driving and you'll be all over it. Lot of the postings on this site have slated british surf without even putting a toe in the water. so go explore

Try "Cheppies" - a secret break in Devon. It's mamouth on a SE swell - I've been to orkney as well - and it's cold as anything but the buzz is like a jackdaw eating hoola hoops. Pack you 72 gun and plenty of sherbert for the ride

Myself and group of us girls are all up for a Devon trip in June, some of us are new to the surfing game. All based in N London, the newbies got the bug after recent trip to Newquay and now we want to get back out on the reg - any advice for Devon spots would be much appreciated, ta!
