I have surfed Lacanua a couple of times during this time of year.  Waves were pretty good but water was a little cold.  The town itself is pretty cool place to hang and chill out.  The locals were very friendly and had no problem with the langauge barrier.  Wish I could go back there soon, but back in the USA now so it will be a while till I get back there.
