I lived in Accra for 5 years & surfed 2-3 times each week; no sharks to worry about; consistent smallish waves, except during hurricane season which tends to coincide with the harmattan( producing offshores from the sahara); no surf shops to speak of, so bring a board,(longboard or minimal)& plenty of wax! oh, & head to Keta for a lovely right!

i have been to ghana and it was pretty sharky, not a lot of surf either your better off heading somewhere else. but weirdly lots of surf shops and hire places o dont bring a board.
