Good wave at times if you're looking for a fat, non-barrelling wave. Spent a month there a while back... it got big once (double-overhead) but also had about two-weeks flat. Mostly head-high stuff when there were waves. Long paddle or 20-30 minute trek out at low tide. No secret anymore... had lots of crowds on it most of the time but occasionally it would be uncrowded but only for a day or so. All in all, an ok place if you have tons of time, lots of books, and want a forgiving but less than thrilling wave to surf (except on those rare days when it's big). There are other "secret" spots in the area but they are fickle, require lots of cash for boats, language skils, and time. good luck.

R U all stupid or just f**king naive.
Indonesia is not like Australia u morons. You cant expect to be able to pre-book everything, unless you want to go on an organised surfing charter holiday. Which by the sounds of it, that is what you need. Get off ya asses, use some initiative, and go explore. And whilst u are there expect to be ripped off, stuck in sweaty shitholes miles from the ocean, lost due to wrong directions, led astray by con-men and ripped off again and again.

Yes you may be able to pay from Oz ...but you will pay silly prices.
Next time try Lion air or adam air etc....I would expect to pay somewhere between 600,00 to 1 juta.
