Lhoknga is a great place for surfing, and the hospitality is amazing there. One place i can recommend is in Mami Diana homestay. they're so friendly and welcoming. you can contact her on +6281360135880. they can pick you up at the airport or bus station. just give her a call, but she has limited english.

Mammy diana is great, especially the way she always talks in the third person "Mammy has a board, mammy speak no good english, mammy has room" awesome. The wind is offshore for a lot of the year though, like six months on, six months off, not sure when though (but it definitely is now in August, as i was there last week).

Better waves at Sabang or Weh island that the area you are talking about, crowds are no where near as bad as the area these guys are talking about....

If you are planning to visit Lhoknga Aceh, this is a good time to come for surefing. I came there not for surfing but I still like. I recommended you guys to stay at Eddie's Homestay. He is very friendly guy and he can cook for dinner, breakfast and also lunch based on your request. I am sure you will like it his place. His homestay is not complete yet but I believe soon will be done. Only $5 dollar pernight (50,000 rupiahs)
I give you his number: 0811688682 or 081360319126 or email him at ediquenzalo@yahoo.com
I will also comeback at his place soon

A bit disappointed. Nice local folks, but didn't realize the place was so inconsistent.  Out of two and half week, had only one day when the waves were semi ridable...only thing was there was a crowd of aussie and dutch surfers for the little scrap we had.  Not wasting my vacation time again.
