Karang nymbor, would suit a long board, but the other waves in South Sumatra are generally very sucky shortish waves ending on shallow reef often a dry reef close out.
Batu karus is mal heaven, but SE trades are onshore.
Cimaja area is also prime Mal area, Cimaja itself would be okay on mal but theres also a few other mal friendly sand over reef pt style waves etc karang sari (right) Loji's (left)

Just wanted to get a review on your surf trip to South Sumatra. I'm thinking of going there this year (May/June 2012). How did you get from Lampung airport to the coast? Where did you staY? Would you recommend anywhere else to stay? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Just want to drop a quick reply about South Sumatra... there has already been a lot of info given and most of it is true, but to keep everyone up to speed... Andy the Yank is gone, gone, gone. Karang Nyimbor Hotel now has a new owner and agent, As those that have already stay there know, it is one of the best places to stay on Unjung Bocur Point. Check it out
and send an email if you want anymore info.
