Hi guys, I live in Milan and I know there are good spots near genoa, but not during the summer... On August the 3rd I'll spend 3 weeks in Portugal, first stop Oporto and then nobody knows...!
If you'll come here in Milan and you want to have surf in the North Italy just contact me, I've got a car and we can organize for a surf-weekend or something else!

We live 3 hours from Levanto (in Switzerland) and have been there like 10 times by now... Unfortunately, we never (N E V E R) found waves - no matter if we went in Winter or Summer. My tipp: Start rock climbing. Italy offers a great variety of rock climbing, especially around Genova, e.g. Finale.
Surfing in Italy - this is my personal experience - takes place on Sardegna and in South of Roma.

I'm about to move to Bologna for the year and would love any tips on spots relatively close by, east or west. (-Map, I'd be down to hitch a ride w/ you or meet up and surf out in Genoa.) I've never been to Italy so would appreciate any info anyone could spare. Thanks!

Yesterday was some pretty good waves here on the West Coast of Italy. I am in the Pisa area and when I went out during lunch, the waves were at least 5ft. In the evening after work, the winds eased and the surf dropped a bit but both long boards and shortboards were catching rides. I have only been here for a month and that is the second time I surfed here. Granted I am a long boarder but surf is surf in my book. Ciao.
