i will be moving to madagascar for 6 months to do work with an NGO and do research. I will be living in the Saint Augustin area starting at the end of August. I was wondering if you knew of any other surfers in the area and the best way to get out to some of the breaks on a consistent basis. I have read that most breaks in the area are 1-3 meters off shore.
Most of my research will actually be about surfing in Mad and how it can be used as a source of tourist income. (in other words, the more i can surf and meet other surfers, the better my research. have to love school) anyways, i shall be working with a group called SAGE which works in ecotourism, but i want to be in the water as much as possible.
any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time

Hi, my name is Aaron. I will be in Mada July-August updating the next edition guidebook for Lonely Planet. I'm looking for folks to hook up with and share some information & a few waves. Have you had much success in gathering Ecotourism info? I was quite attracted to your thesis concept of using surfing to create a tourism base in Mada, and I'd be interested in talking to you further. Can you provide me with your personal email address so we can talk more? Thanks

Hi, St Augustin itself is not a good spot. Way too rough because of the river/sea mix. But you are not far away from other awesome spots. Hmm, transportation is gonna be the fun part. But, hey, that's all part of the adventure. People at SAGE might give hints on how to get where. Best of surf,
