One of the most consistent spots in New Zealand in my experience. Trade wind is NW (offshore) and there's plenty of south swell in winter. 4/3 steamer for the winter months, booties don't go amiss either. Mahia is forty five minutes away as well so no shortage of spots to choose from. Very relaxing is Gizzy.

Port Chalmers got a long right if tide is medium about 2-3 meters and New Brighton turns on quick, short L&R sandsies, but I didn't understand last post by a lola, unless she's the one the old English band the Kinks, talked about. It seems, after review, there's a lot of weirdos responding, especially a Tom guy. What gives?

wat a bunch of losers, i dont mind locals letting people know they are locals but if they start hassling people and telling them to f#%* off i go straight to the carpark and start slashing tyres. haha.
im sure the locals at at an unnamed east cape break enjoyed the walk home, losers!
