RE: surf in new caledonia

Bonjour,

How did your surfari go? I am going to Noumea in July with family- is it worth taking a board, or is the surf pretty inaccessable for those with family responsibilities

RE: surf in new caledonia

Hi
I am coming to NC for a sailing holiday, but would be keen to surf. We are going to get a boat from Noumea and sail to the Isle of Pines. We want to surf on some intermediate reef breaks in this area. Can you anchor near the waves?

Thanks

Hugh

RE: surf in new caledonia

Hi Kevin,
My partner and I are coming to NC with a baby and would like to go surfing together - can you recommend a place to stay where the surf is not too far away and where there might be some babysitting services?

RE: surf in new caledonia

hi kevin, i am keen to surf ouano. what would be the best time of year to get still conditions or offshore winds at this break? I hear that the s-e trade winds chop ouano up at around 15knots. i'm not that worried about getting big waves, anything around 1-2m is okay by me. If you can recommend the best month I would be grateful.
I have been to isle of pines before. It is a beautiful island. Are the breaks you surfed there accessable from the land or do you need a boat?
Thanks for your time......Russ

RE: surf in new caledonia

Kevin,

We have been looking at coming to New Caledonia and sample your surf and culture. I was wondering whether you can camp(with own equipment and supplies) on the island at Ouano. If so, can you paddle to the surf from the island.

Kind regards

Brendon James

Hi kevin,
I am thinking about a 2 week holiday in july, have 3 kids, is there any surf breaks close to shore in NC, or all breaks boat access only,
Thanks a million,

Jorgen
