I originally stayed at Punta Brava Lodge (now called Dos Palmas Hotel), but after hearing about the owner Jose Crespo and how he stole the land there, the locals told me its best to not stay there, so I moved to Cabanas Rolo, which was cheaper and Rolo is a super cool local guy, great fisherman and surfer, right in town. My friends stayed at La Buena Vida and Sol y Mar which they rave about too.

You guys should stay in http://hotelsantacatalinapanama.com/ it's a very nice and affordable as well as friendly place. It's also got an awesome wave that breaks right out in front of the property. It's a little paddle but well worth it. It's true what the other guy said about Jose Crespo, that guy is a thief and a gangster. He send his thugs to threaten people that live there with guns and burns down there bohios. He's been trying to steal property in this area for over 20 years. He's absolutely worthless and an evil person, I would definitely not recommend staying at his accommodations.
