I've stayed there. the german guy was actually really nice. Plus the food I like. Sorry to hear that something bad happened. But if ever you decide to go back.There's a lot of places in San Juan that's pretty ok to stay in. Surf camp, wave riders, and a lot more.

hey marco, im planning to learn how to surf (part of the whole try something new and conquer your fear thing).. any recommendations on which "school" to go, which place to stay, what to bring? my friend and i are going end of may, early june.

I am coming to the Philippines in January, and I'm really interested to try snorkeling...is La Union a good place? I would also like to know which resort is nice and clean and the best place to stay for snorkeling...I would appreciate any help I could get...tnx guys!

maybe u just did something he didn't liked for him to act that way. Jan is a good family friend.i'm a local of san juan, la union. me and my siblings used to surf at his place. his board rentals are only 60 pesos per hour - much much cheaper than other resort's rate. i don't know if he still let his boards for rent. i heard there's an incident where some people who stayed at his place and rented some boards and broke one of his prized shortboard, a gift for his daughter. the visitors, as what I have heard are from manila.

hi planning to go and try the Sunset german resort this july juz for a day coz i'll be living in balaoan,juz wanted to try and visit a resort and stay for a night...does anyone know if it's any good? any recommendations in the same area like in buang? what about the Long Beach resort...also in buang, has anyone been there..any info will help thanks!

I also don't recoment the Sunset Resort in La Union, Philippines. The manager is extremely arrogant.
