Hey Waray76, if you can pay the $150 for the boat ride then yes i would like to hire that boat but they better do more than just take me to the spot for that amount of money. The local banka guides can do the same for less and with more money left over to buy you an education. I wouldn't worry about the banka guides finding the surf spots, they have local knowledge and would be the better choice because of their daily trips in those waters including knowing the seasons, currents, tides and underwater obstacles. Support the local economy and not someone who could care less about the Pinoy (Daryl's been here since '04 and has been coming here since '88, yet he can't speak in Filipino?).

Well guys, looks like you know how to find the spots with the local banka  owners???? Good luck. Hope I see you out there 1 day, but something tells me it will take you a long time. LOL.

Your price is out of range for one person to pay and you know that. $150 US!? Come on man, only newbies or the naive would pay that much and it's not even a luxury yacht. Banka guides know the dangers of a spot better than you, will tell people what is available beyond a certain point, are usually related to other banka guides who will have access to other guides if they get into a problem and will catch you a fresh dinner on the way in. All that for way less money and access to more surf spots because of the local knowledge. What makes you think they won't know anything? There's just no comparison.

Sounds like you underestimate the banka guys in knowing their territory so you can take opportunity of newbies. $US150 is stupid! Better to buy a plane ticket to Siargao or other spots that have consistent waves for two, three or four days rather than one day for $US150.
