"I am from canada vancouver island also was wonderring if possible to smoke there.. hhehehehehehe.
Hey Brad, after you try the ganja go for the shabu. While you're at it, grab some hookers. Or better yet, just stay where you are and do it all in the comforts of home so you won't have to promote your brand of "fun" to places in the Philippines where the locals don't relate surfing with drug addiction (you wouldn't want to "party" with an addict).

I am a "false beginner" surfer - ie, I used to surf quite a bit in Australia and would have been lower intermediate at one stage, but it's been a few years so I'm looking for somewhere gentle to get my skills back.
Just wondering will this Baler place be a little too hardcore? I'm pretty much just looking for right hand beach breaks.
Also has anyone been to San Juan in La Union? This site says it's intermediate, but if it has beach breaks then I should be able to handle the smaller days. I took a look at Crystal Beach in Zambales which is supposedly beginner, but the reviews don't look too good.
Any advice would be appreciated.

@brad: yes there are plenty of things for you to do in Baler. you can go nature-tripping or just chill out. be carefull with the smokes though, like kuholdagat said, it isn't legal! :-D
