I am going to be studying in Santander for August and September and Grananda till January, and I am planning on bringing my surfboards (two shortboards) with me from California.  Does anyone know how much it costs to bring it on the plane (like more or less than the $100 i expect to pay when going to hawaii) and then how difficult it is to travel with it on the train?  I am flying into Paris and going from there to Santander via train.  Does it make more sense to just buy a new board in Spain?  Thanks for any input.

Probably best to buy a board in spain as lugging it around on trains could be a hassle but if u r used to it then no worries. It would be best if u had a car then you could get around to the best breaks.... and explore. Remember it will be busy in summer with plenty of people in the water....

What up,  moving to Santander to teach in La Albericia from September 15-June 15 2010.  Which break should I live the closest to?  I'll gladly take a bus ride everyday to live by a consistent break.  Any advice on where to live/surf in Santander would be appreciated.
