RE: what is surf like in san sebastian in summer?/meet up?« on: June 01 2009 14:06:00 »
Gday sam, how are you mate? I definately plan on hitting the same breaks as yourself, though it may be difficult scoring waves in mundaka, being such a famous wave i think half of europe is going to be out there + the asp tour will be there in august.. Nonetheless though i'm keen to check it.
As far as San sebastian is concerned the main break is zurriola beach... It appears to be your average beach break during summer, 2-4ft peaks, nothing off the hook, but definately looks fun.. The only real drawback is the crowds mate.. Anyway check this site out for a daily webcam of the break lazurriola.com

I promise this isn't spam. I learned to surf (poorly) in San Seb last summer and wrote a blog post about it if you'd like to check it out: http://bit.ly/HM5suT
From my understanding San Seb is a great place to learn with relatively gentle surf. It's not as hot as the rest of Spain, though, but I guess that's probably a good thing when you're pretending to paddle your board on shore!
