RE: Nawai Ali'i Resort

On arrival at Tonga airport I was immediately harassed by the crew from Nawaialii. I figured they must know where the surf is and wouldn’t hurt to check it out. The place was a filthy run down rat haven and stuck out over the beach spoiling a beautiful spot. The manager was a creepy Indian guy who knew nothing about the surf. There is some kind of break there but the best is up the beach in front of the surf camp. I had to stay one night and couldn’t sleep because they had about forty yelling and screaming people camped on the floor of the bar. The surf camp was full so I had to stay at the other place further again from the break. It was marginally better. So be careful of the airport hound-dogs and stay anywhere but there.
