Hi there. Im planning on going to Samoa in July with my boyfriend. He will be surfing and I think I will take my bodyboard. Is there any where to hire mals? Or should I lug that along with me? Are the breaks all reef or are there a few beachies? If so where would be best. Also, would you recommend Savaii or Upolu? Would u be sorted to find a fale without booking and just book a hotel for the flight in in APIA?

Sorry it has been since January but Samoa it is hard to communicate.
I am back in the states and saw your email so I thought I would reply anyway.
Taufua Beach Fales is the place for cheap accommodation for kids and family fun. With a surf spot out the fornt that is not great but can be fun and surf access by boat ot the east coast. I will be back in Samoa June 07. If you want to contact me for this time.
Hope to see you in a Samoan Barrel.

Bob, I am back in Florida but he place to stay is Taufua Beach Fales in Lalomanu Beach. I am not sure if they will be doing surfing since I am not there but you can also stay at Salani SUrf Resort and you can surf out the front all day.
Hope they enjoy their trip.

Yeah been to Maninoa a couple o times a sick place to spend some time, cheap and real close to prime surf spots. Also Tim the surf guide is a wealth of local knowledge.
