I live east of Toronto, Whitby actually, does anyone know any spots out this way? What weather conditions should I be looking for? What generates ridable surf on lake Ontario?

I figured having a long board would work well on the smaller waves. I don't know...still a beginner here.

ya a longboard and a gun are 2 different things. guns are for big wave surfin.. like hawaii man. theyre sleek, skinny and real pointed. longboards like most dudes use here are rounded, u know malibu style. look it up on surfline. they give u the diff kind of boards in the surfology a-z. ur board might be long but it ain't the right shape for a beginner on the lakes.
