I'm planning to come and film for a Brazilian program... Which month between May and August generally has the best swell?

You gotta be kidding me. There is so much surf around here. The mainland can be surfed if there's a big enough swell, but it's inconsistent and crappy. Take a ferry over to Van Island during any winter swell over 9' and most of those spots are off the hook...head-high with perfect shape.
Do a search...Jordan River, Port Renfrew and Sombrio just to name a few.

Hey, I know the person who posted those 'Vancouver Secret Spot' videos on youtube, is very knowledgeable in Vancouver Surf. I hear through some folks that he surfed like 30 something days in Vancouver the past winter! I asked him some questions on his youtube account and he was pretty nice to answer back
