Surf in Columbia« on: July 03 2009 10:07:00 »
Hey just wondering if anyone knows about the surf on the Pacific side of Columbia, vs the Caribbean side. Also what time of year is good? Is it similar to Panama? Any information would be helpful.

I lived in Cartagena for like 12 years I left in 1991, the best waves are during the months of November to February it's called over there "Mar de Leva" and during the year occassionally waves nicely formed and you can paddle out right next to the jetty were a current will help you out, very shallow at some points of the wave, I used to go at 6 am and there usually or must of the time a offshore wind very nice no current, another spot "Punta Canoa" and "Galera Zamba" and some other spots now there are lot's of hidden rocks so don't go alone because if you happen to get nocked out there are no lifeguards or anyone on those virgin beaches
