La Libertad has beautiful beaches. I live in Houston but on the summers I go to La Perla, La Libertad. La Libertad may not be that safe but overall it's very nice and the beaches are great for surfing. Atami in El Palmar has beautiful houses.

Boy have prices shot up down there! I was there in 72-73 for 8 months living in a 3 bedroom ac house w/ pool on the beach at conchalio 1 block from the point. It was 50 $ a month split 4 ways. If your really a local you might know what ever happened to Carlos Salazar. the first really outstanding surfer from Libertad. cw

Hey John,
My name is Dave and I'm from Vancouver BC, Canada. Some friends and myself are heading to El Salvador for a two week surf trip and are looking for some info on accomidations. I came across your post on global surfers and you mentioned having a friend with a cottage that sleeps 6? If possible, could I get some more info off of you?
Thanks,
Dave.

I saw that you have a place in Atami and wondered if it would be vacant between February 17th - 20th.  I'm coming down to El Salvador with my girlfriend & we hoped to get some beach time in but didn't want to worry about safety.
