cathy, get in touch with dean dawes who lives on st marys. he currently chefs the cafe on porthmellon beach (may be closed for winter). hes a top bloke who will sort you out with any questions. oh yeah, hes not a bad sponger either! hes out all weathers.

no probs. lived on scillies for 11 years, golden ball rocks but can be gggggggggggggnarly. i have been out there on a 10ft surf ski (years ago), which was an experience. if it is breaking right across the channel, its probably best not to bother! we used to go on our boat, anchor up in the channel and jump in.

no probs. lived on scillies for 11 years, golden ball rocks but can be gggggggggggggnarly. i have been out there on a 10ft surf ski (years ago), which was an experience. if it is breaking right across the channel, its probably best not to bother! you can be on the inside section quite happily when a beast breaks way out back. i might have said, a friend of mine forgot to tie his leash on, got nailed, came up without his board. he found the board a couple of hours later on one of the islands, but had to swim miles. we used to go on our boat, anchor up in the channel and jump in.

hey all, dean here, i know some of you here others im not sure about, tudgy i no you but im not sure about what you have writing bit of a flair for the dramatics there huh, been surffing here for almost ten years here surfed the ball countles times and have never hit the slate bottom as there isnt one plenty of granite though but only felt the wrath of that once. there are plenty of top breaks here have surfed about 11 of them and there are plenty that have gone unwridden,

just had 4/5 porthcressa high tide on the middle reef, awsome wedge section and really steep take off into a nice short but hoolow pit, 2 of us out and the sun shinning. happy days. dawn patrol before work tom morning. sweet
