Yeah, brazilian god surfer knows his sh*t.  He seems to be on the mark!  He really knows his surfing history, good for him.

Really now, the hawaiians were surfing long before his country was discovered by the europeans, Hawaiians got pushed around by the missionaries and lost touch with the waves, but it all came back with King Kalakaua.

What DID happen was surfing was rediscovered and broadcast worldwide in the first half of the twentieth century.  Check it out, the truth is not afraid to stand on it's own feet.

this is to "from all the locals": sometimes the truth hurts don't it? don't get mad, get over it. you guys would love every non-Hawaiian surfer to fear the locals of Hawaii. Why?
I got news for ya BRA - this surfer has lived right here in Ewa Beach for 24 years now and I can assure you, I don't get messed with by locals...a couple of ass-whoopin's got my message across loud and clear. if this makes you mad, try treating people with some respect instead of trying to intimidate them....its gettin real old.

this is a very sensitive topic in Hawaii with the locals but most of the best surfers came from outside Hawaii and taught locals how to surf the really hairy places. you can't re-write history and i know its tough to accept but - SURF ON!!

ok lol well i didnt say anything AGAINST the hawiian surfers so dont get pissed off at me. IM not even going to try to argue that hawiians wer the first. like i said before you guys rock. Just give the whites a lil bit of a break. Maybe some of them arent as bad as you paint them to be? ever think about that? there shouldnt be prejiduce on the the waves. Surfing is not like that. It is for everyone. So stop pissing off at everyone and being mad at the world and grow up. It's like you guys have lost focuss of what surfing really is.

First of all only the old time regs who surf bowls and shit are that much of an asshole.  And second of all most of us are just out there to get away from it all the big buildings, ice heads, the works.  And then to have to share waves with a guy that barely knows how to surf hawaii and isn't even from here, after a hard day of construction that's the last thing they want to do.  Finally we created the sport if duke Kahanamoku didn't go to california or australia you guys would probably not have caught on for a long time, so if we have lost touch with why we surf than you guys certainly have.

Yeah your right, but why don't they go and dirty their beaches like trestles and shit.  Oh wait they already have.  So now they want to come here and destroy ours.  We don't fly over there to get away from it all.  And it's not like we have perfect 3-5 barrels (hawaiian scale) grinding across our reefs year around, we have our flat spells too for like a month and a half at a time.
