There are places to surf on Simeulue, but some shifty, some shallow. The openness to the SW means the swells are not wrapping and there are many outer reefs breaking up the swell. I am sure the camp there is operating but no boat. You can rent a bus with driver for about $50 a day, and the road to the north is now complete i think. From my knowledge no one has spent much time up north since the earthquake. If you dont get any surf, it wont be i time you will forget.
Can i say, dont support the camp at the Banyaks. It is supposed to be national park, and they have pulled a swiffty, and as the other person said "good luck with the sandflies". The operator is a know shiester. There are already enough boats in the reigion.

Gary, you're a knob. The place doesn't have to be national park; bottom line is it shouldn't be ruined, shouldn't be touched. Take your camp elsewhere. As for Aseanec, anything to do with the Indonesian government is shifty as.
