Bali is safe. The Locals are super friendly, Java I wouldn't advise him to stay for too long, it's not very nice there anyway

hi i really wouldn't be worried about your son at all, myself and my sis travelled indo for 6 months and we went from north to south and didn't get in to much trouble, we found sumatra to be hard to travell but when you got to where your going its well worth it, if he can avoid sibolga at all it would be a good idea.

I wouldnt bother goiing to Indo after the recent Tsunami as many people will not be able to give you jobs and many of the sick surf spots are ruined due to the power of the ocean.
