There is fights to Telo on small plane but its a government subsidised service for locals flights must be booked at the airport (cant buy online) and locals get first preference, so you would be very lucky to get a flight.
The far south area of the Telo islands is super remote and very hard and expensive to access and there is no homestay only a few very small villages.

get 2month visa at PENAN. PENAN to MEDAN by ferry. MEDAN to SIBOLGA by bus . SIBOLGA to TELUK DALAM by ferry. stay SORAKE few days then get a ferry ticket to TELO every 2weeks on sutarday from TELUK DALAM. when you get TELO take a becak at main street and you say SAYA MAU KU SIBURANUN to becak man after 15 minutes you get south side of TELO small beach near the small school then you can see SIBURANUN is surf island you can swim there something like that. a local would take you to SIBURANUN by kayak.

Technically its true what Ryoji says, but its kind of the hard way to do things, much quicker to fly direct to Nias from Medan.
Yes you can also stay in Tello town at the losmen, but again its the hard way of doing things, as its over 5km from Tello town to Sibaranun one way, then you must pay for a becak and someone to paddle you across then pay someone to paddle you back then either have the becak wait for you which cost more money or call him to come pick you up.
Much better to stay with Andreas as can keep an eye on the left and surf when best and less crowded and if the left is to small or to big or wrong winds, he can take you to another wave in his boat.
