I have crossed paths with Jose Bolanos on numerous occasions in and out of the water. He is a quality person, one of the nicesst people I've met in Nica. Just want to set the record straight.

Can I rent a long board without having to stay at a surf camp? If so where. Any help would be appreciated.

i live LA and will be in nicaragua from aug 21-31 2009. coupla questions for you . . . delta wants to charge me $600 round trip for my boards which is more than my ticket cost. sooooooo:
1. where's the best spot to stay where i can walk to the water and surf with some consistent waves (thinking popoyo looks good). going with the girlfriend so somewhere she can find some distractions, etc.
2. i dont wanna rent a crappy, yellowed dinged up board. i'm 5'8 about 170 lbs and surf daily. like to get something decent, maybe rent or buy a cheaper used board . . . any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. and we just had the sickest sw swell i've ever seen in socal this past week. hope it hit you guys down there too!

What are prices for boards like here compared to the states and Canada. I´m from canada and quality boards in good shape go for 200 to 400 usually. Are they cheapèr here??

See Dave at Good Times surf shop in SJDS or the frenchman in Popoyo. Dave is super friendly and has a good inventory. I went to Nica last year without taking a board from home and found one the first day there. SJDS is not the only place in the country to buy a board (despite what I had read and had been told by others).
