if anyone wants to learn how to surf then you can come to Ilocos in Nov and i'd love to teach people how to surf with no cost. I just do it coz its my passion. and i have a perfect beginners break in ilocos. come check it out. if you want more info just email and i can even organise accomodation for you. At the moment i'm in Australia coz i live here but i will there in Nov til Feb. Hope we can all surf together one day! surfs up and stay stoked.

waves in la union are real fun if it's not too big. my girlfriend and i went there (both newbies) last month (may) and we had a blast!
the locals are the nicest bunch of people you can ever meet.
my girlfriend caught her first wave there - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lStZQnNducY - (very much newbie as you can tell hehe)
we really really hope we can come back soon!

hey there rob, there are actually some swells in la union from may to july.. heck, i was up there may 1-3 and had pretty good waves.. granted, its not consistent during these months(i was up there just this weekend and the waves werent as good) but if you go there at a perfect time, you'll get pretty good waves...:)
im not sure where the other guys get their info, but im 100% sure that surf lessons are standardized in Elyu.. 400/hour with board and instructor.. if you're wanting to get cheap accomodations, you can check out Surfer's Inn.. its 300/head/night.. On a regular weekend, you can have a whole apartment to yourself..:) Hacienda and Lola Nanny's are also good, affordable places to stay at.. rooms range from 500-700 for fan, and about 1000-1200 for a/c..

Looking at heading to La Union for some surf in late March, is the season usually completely dead and flat by then or should there still be some swell to get on?
